Teaching Assistant - Nottinghamshire

LTF Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside one of our partner schools in the Nottinghamshire area who are looking to add a teaching assistant to their team to work alongside their pupils who present with challenging behaviours. The role will be full time (Mon-Fri) and will be contracted until the end of July 2021.

The school require someone who:

• Has an understanding of how to work with pupils with challenging behaviours
• Holds at least one years' experience of working within a school
• Holds a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree
• Has a fantastic attendance record and will be reliable
• Will be able to quickly build relationships with children and staff
• Is available to work from December 2020 / January 2021
• Has a valid and up to date DBS

The main duties within the role will be:

• Working 1-2-1 with children who have: Autism, ADHD & behavioural challenges
• Leading small academic sessions with pupils on the SEN register
• Supporting children with reading, writing and phonics
• Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around pupil progress
• Helping the class teacher to engage SEN pupils in lessons
• Assisting the class teacher with the setup of the classroom
