ADVANCED PHARMACIST- MENTAL HEALTH Band 8A
Permanent Post 0.6 WTE + EDC
£49,480 - £53,414 pa (pro rata)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an advanced clinical pharmacist with excellent leadership and clinical skills to develop and expand the pharmacy services to the mental health directorate, within West Lothian HSCP. The post will be based at St John's Hospital (SJH) working across a range of mental health specialities, including adult and older people's mental health. This post will offer the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of service delivery and development to a diverse group of patients, including transfer of care across the interface and involvement in community based services e.g. clozapine clinic, community mental health teams.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team developing a quality service to identified Mental Health directorates. Key areas for patient focused care include provision of pharmaceutical care to vulnerable patients, medication history reviews, provision of a medicines information service, maintenance of a high-dose antipsychotic monitoring system, monitoring adherence to the Mental Health Act, patient/carer education. The successful provision of this service relies on multidisciplinary working. The post holder will also have close links with other members of the pharmacy team across NHS Lothian.
Candidates must be a UK registered pharmacist with relevant postgraduate clinical experience in delivery of pharmaceutical care in a secondary or primary care setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required along with sound clinical knowledge and good IT skills. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
