To manage and maintain own caseload and oversee caseloads of nursing team. To develop, manage and deliver a specialised substance misuse service to clients who have complex substance misuse problems within a defined geographical area, appropriate to the needs of that population.
To promote and co-ordinate care between other services and agencies involved in provision of services to people with substance misuse problems, including CMHTs, In-patient Mental Health and General Hospital Services, Non-statutory Services, Social Work Teams, GPs, Midwives, Prison Services, Drug Locality Service and other Primary Health Care Team Staff.
To provide specialist training, advice and consultancy to the aforementioned professionals. Provision of teaching and clinical/managerial supervision to nursing and medical students/staff.
To be responsible for the quality of the service provided by the team and to contribute to service development.
To ensure high quality care to clients and to ensure effective communication between all members of the team and other professionals.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.???????
