Robert Half are working closely with a well known Scottish organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant based in Edinburgh.
Reporting directly into the Head of Finance and working closely with various budget holders across the organisation, this is an excellent opportunity for someone driven and ambitious to work as part of a collaborative and established team. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the delivery of timely and accurate financial accounting services including financial reporting, statutory returns and management of the ledger system. Partnering with another qualified accountant, the financial accountant will assume supervisory responsibilities over the transactional finance team. This role is well suited to those who are fully qualified with hands-on experience amassed in industry and commerce, as well as those currently working in the audit profession in Practice.

The Role
- Preparation of the year end accounts, liaising with external auditors
- Ownership of the fixed asset register
- Overseeing the month end reporting
- Dealing with statement reconciliations and payments
- Daily processing of bank transactions
- Production of accruals and prepayments
- Quarterly VAT returns and tax returns
- Ensure accurate delivery of payroll
- Driving business strategy where appropriate
Your Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)
- 3 years post qualification experience
- You will be computer-literate and have an understanding how to communicate with other areas of the business
- You will have excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Experience of managing and/or supervising staff
- Maintain the organisation brand and image through all external and internal communications
