About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Earthworks & Drainage Coordinator to support the Design Management team in managing and delivering the optimised Design for Earthworks in accordance with the Programme and the Client's requirements. You'll be reporting to the Engineering Discipline Manager/Lead for Geotechnics.
We need you to assist the Geotechnical Discipline Lead with the Earthworks design routewide (across all sectors) for large number of primary and secondary assets including Cuttings, Embankments, Cut and Cover Tunnels and others. You will need to provide technical support for management of topics such slope stabilisation, field trials and back analyses, heave, settlements, drainage mitigation measures and all other issues related with the design development for the Earthworks related topics.
Close liaison with the Design & Engineering Section Leads to ensure the delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the Client's requirements is essential. You'll also need to aid in the study of optimisation/assumptions and liaison with the commercial, planning, design delivery teams, and designers.
Supporting the link and coordination with Construction Section Leads for management of Earthworks and Drainage related topics is again an essential part of this role. We need you to help in the management and coordination of the Earthworks and Drainage Design route wise, with close liaison with other Discipline sections such as Instrumentation & Monitoring, Geotechnical and Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology.
About The Candidate
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in major civil engineering works
Experience in earthworks design and construction (e.g. rail embankments and cuttings)
Experience in drainage design for earthworks
Very good knowledge of relevant Earthworks and Drainage design standards and its applicability for the design (CIRIA, British Standards, Eurocodes)
Value engineering and optimisation focussed
Good communication skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Degree in Civil Engineering with appropriate experience
Good knowledge of slope stability analysis software
