Job Title: SEN Support (PMLD) - Teaching Assistant
Location: County Durham (DL14)
Daily Rate: £65 - £85
Nature of Employment: Supply/Permanent/Contractual
GSL Education are actively looking for candidates who have experience working with young people who have PMLD needs. We here at GSL have a great reputation in the area and are renowned for our professional and personable service. With more than 17 years of experience, we have a wealth of knowledge and connections that we will use to help find a placement that suits you. Our rates are highly competitive and we have day-day, long-term and permanent contracts available around your requirements.
The school setting is based in Newcastle and is easy to access by Car and Public transport. Current vacancies are looking for candidates to work full-time (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday to Friday) in either the Primary or the Secondary provision.
The potential candidate will work closely with a team of professionals to provide tailored and specific support for young people who have additional requirements in either Academic or Communicative development. A large part of this role is relationship and stability building for the young person. For this position, successful candidates will be working on a 1:1 basis or operate as a General Classroom Assistant.
Successful candidates will have experience working with young people or adults who have worked closely with the following needs or behaviours:
* Physical Disabilities - that limit them in undertaking everyday tasks and often restrict mobility, risk to body shape
* Sensory Impairments
* Sensory processing difficulties
* Complex health needs (e.g Epilepsy, respiratory problems, dysphagia and eat and drinking problems)
* 'coping behaviours' (to their communication or other difficulties)
* Mental Health Difficulties

In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants.
