JOB DETAILS:
Operations
Plan and organise own daily & weekly workload to ensure delivery of weekly production targets and longer-term strategic business objectives.
Review and interpret customer specifications to be applied to production machinery orders
Design and preparation of electrical schematics / safety circuits and supporting manufacturing drawings using EPLAN / 2D CAD
Prepare and maintain accurate bills of material
Co-ordinate with purchasing to ensure correct and on-time delivery of crucial components and assemblies for manufacturing
Co-ordinate with shop floor manufacturing of equipment to ensure correct methods and practices are used in build and ensure correct and on time completion of build
Produce costs to support technical quotations
Monitor machine order costs to ensure orders are completed within budgets
Investigate customer quality concerns ensuring that timely and effective corrective measures are implemented
Implement Engineering Changes accurately within required timescales
Weekly communication with Engineering Team lead on project statusCompliance and Safety
Responsible for improving electrical design and safety circuits in line with RA's and international standards
Prepare and maintain product test and validation documentsNew Product Development
Contribute to new product design, reducing costs and lead times by investigating and implementing new design techniques and manufacturing processes
Participate and lead continuous improvement activities
Identify own training needsThe company is looking for someone with the following experience:
HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline - or equivalent practical experience
At least 5 years experience in design engineering within a medium or high volume production environment
Experience in design of a variety of based control systems
Experience in electrical panel design
Ability to fault find circuits
Practical knowledge of machinery directive
Experience in the design to order industry
Broad experience of material handling product specification, design and introduction
Formal design change management process knowledge
Project management experience
Electrical Safety knowledge
Strong communication skills
