Toolmaker
Role
Our client in Oakham are currently seeking a time-served press toolmaker to join their close-knit team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and service of the moulding machine tools, and related equipment, in a timely and efficient manner.
Job requirements
·Working to fine tolerances build, repair and maintain tooling
·Perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
·Join as a skilled toolmaker with a "right first-time" approach
·Ability to understand technical drawings.
·Make tooling accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision
·Communicate with operational staff to understand tooling related issues
·Demonstrate flexibility in a breakdown situation
Job Responsibilities
·The successful candidate must have an accredited Toolmaker Apprenticeship or equivalent.
·Knowledge of operating general tool room machinery such as centre lathes, vertical millers, grinders
·Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
·Must be happy to work solely or as part of a team with little supervision
·Familiar with the use of a variety of precision measuring instruments including gauges and devices.
·Maintenance of on-site machinery
·Basic computer literacy
Hours and Pay
· Rotating shifts
· Salary 30k
