Job Details
We are currently recruiting for a Scheduler to be based in Porton Down, Salisbury.
Working hours: 8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Fri. 37hpw
Job purpose:
The Technical Manager (Electrical) is responsible and accountable for ensuring the safety, security, availability and compliance of all assets within their area of responsibility and the proper supervision of all works carried out by EMCOR staff and Subcontractors. This includes liaising with our client building users to anticipate, prepare for and respond to emergencies and service disruptions.
Principal Accountabilities:
To be the first point of call for all technical issues identified across the site
Facilitate and monitor the performance of hard FM services sub-contractors to ensure that they comply with all environmental, health, safety and compliance regulations and local procedures, including fraud prevention and security
Control the risks to personnel, client operations and equipment by ensuring all works are carried out by suitably qualified and experienced personnel (SQEP) within the scope of an accurate and up to date method statement, task instruction and risk assessment
Carry out Authorised Persons duties in accordance with MoD Safety Rules and Procedures
Manage small Works Projects as delegated
Establish and manage an effective out of hours call out requirement utilising staff and subcontractors
Support the delivery of planned, reactive, remedial and new works
Ensure they are carried out safely, on time, on quality and properly recorded within the CAFM system to enable full commercial recovery and accurate performance reporting
Comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures, ensuring the requirements of Health and Safety at Work and Environmental legislation are always met
Support internal, customer and external audit activities to provide assurance of quality and conformance
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with building managers and staff
Work with customers, suppliers and staff to identify opportunities for innovation and better use of resources; develop proposals and case studies to support work-winning and continuous improvement
Manage the change process for all assets within their area ensuring that both Asset Register and Maintenance plans are updated to reflect changes to
Develop and maintain a list of critical spares and consumables via Failure Modes Analysis and utilisation
Maintain an accurate and comprehensive Asset Register for the buildings and systems within their area
Responsible for the checking of compliance for statutory and non-statutory inspections and tests within their discipline and all associated certification and documentation, feeding in regularly to the compliance controller

Be an ambassador of the EMCOR Group (UK) plc
To carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested from time-to-time by EMCOR Group (UK) plc assets
Person Specification:
Chartered Engineer - desirable
Bachelors or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering desirable
Expert knowledge of HV, LV networks and complex mechanical equipment
Experience in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering
Good written and verbal communication skills; attention to details
Self-motivated, energetic leader with good personal standards and ability to work calmly under pressure to meet tight timescales, exercising appropriate initiative
Ability to prioritize and manage own and other workloads
Good knowledge of relevant H&S legislation - desirable
Good understanding of customer service and quality management
Computer literate - knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Full UK driving license
Must be willing to work day shifts and be on call when required
Knowledge of Building Management Systems or Security Access Systems - desirable.
Must act as a deputy to the Operations Manager Electrical when required
Must be willing to undertake a multi-functional role e.g. Project Management, Site Management etc. to satisfy peaks in demands in other service streams
Must be able to attain and retain Security Clearance
