A 3 months opportunity for a Payroll Assistant has arisen with the local authorities in Portsmouth.
To assist in the provision of accurate and effective payroll service for the salary and monthly casual/temp payroll ensuring that staff are paid accurately and on time and that all related procedures are completed. To also assist for the administration of the Council's Car & Bicycle loan schemes.
Skills and Experience:
Recent experience of working in a payroll department using payroll software to process a large staff number payroll.
Knowledge of Tax, NI,SSP, SMP, pensions auto-enrolment and taxable benefits.
Computer literate with a good knowledge of Excel and Word.
A track record of implementing new legislation and processes relating to the provision of a payroll service.Hours of work are 8.30am till 5pm, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
