Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team, based on the outskirts of Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Description
The Assistant Accountant will have a varied job with a wide variety of tasks, including:
Cash allocation of receipts and payments against sales and purchase ledgers
Bank reconciliations
Processing of foreign payment runs
Processing and controlling of fixed asset accounting and the month end reconciliations of these accounts
Organising and ensuring robust fixed asset audit processes within the business
Monitoring and controlling month end accruals and prepayments and ensuring complete reconciliation processes are in place
Preparation of Intrastat on a monthly basis
Review employee expenses and make reimbursements
Review and post credit card and travel transactions
Reviewing monthly inventory count
Review and post intercompany recharges
Preparation of national statistics forms
Preparation of Tax Pack and Reporting Pack
Preparation of Financial Statements
Assisting with R&D Tax Credit calculations
Assisting with preparation of PSA
Providing cover for purchase ledger
Providing cover for preparation VAT return
Other ad hoc duties as required
Profile
The successful Assistant Accountant will have proven experience within a similar role - a transactional accounting position with experience of month end duties.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of debits and credits, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and have some form of Accountancy qualification whether a Finance degree or AAT/ACCA. They must be hardworking and have a positive and professional attitude.
Job Offer
The salary on offer is between £26,000 and £30,000 plus a generous benefits package
