GBR Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading new build home development / building company based in the East Midlands recruiting for an experienced new build housing development / building & construction Accountant (who is AAT L3 / L4 qualified, or part qualified in CIMA or part qualified in ACCA) to join the accounts / finance team.
You must have WIP (work in progress) accounting experience & house costings experience as well as management accounts preparation experience in order to be considered for this role
This is a key Accountancy role within a very successful business proactively managing x3 within the accounts team (accounts clerk / purchase ledger clerk & an assistant accountant) supporting the Finance Manager in producing accurate management accounts.

Duties:
* Reconciling WIP (Work in Progress) Accounts & producing costings
* Producing monthly margin reports per house plot as well as reconciling management accounts
* Preparing and processing monthly prepayments, accruals and journals
* Reconciling balance sheet control accounts
* Analysing overhead costs and reviewing against set budgets and discussing it with the budget holders
* Posting cash-book and reconciling to nominal/ bank statements
* Processing house sales, allocating cash & reconciling control accounts
* Leading purchase/sale/cash-book ledgers
* Day to day management of the accounts team, including appraisals, absence management, employee relations and recruitment of new members
* Processing business expense / mileage claims
* Processing credit card expenditure & reconcile to control accounts
* Assist in the year end processes, auditing & budgeting
* Understanding and improving accounting / finance controls and procedures
Experience & Skills Required:
* Qualified to AAT Level 3 (working towards Level 4) or AAT Level 4 or part CIMA / part ACCA qualified
* Experience in a new build development / construction sector Accountancy / Finance role, carrying out similar duties as listed
* Have experience of overseeing a small Accounts team (2+ ideally)
* Computer-literate with strong excel skills
* Strong organisational skills and problem-solving ability
* Experience of using Microsoft NAV (used to be known as E-Vision) is beneficial
Interviews to take place immediately for the right calibre of candidate, with an immediate start for the right person
