As Electrical Engineering Manager you will lead the design and specification of our hardware and electrical interfaces with the client's existing infrastructure, systems and equipment, including human factors compliance. Utilising excellent communication and collaborative skills, across teams and external partners, you will ensure this is fit for purpose, appropriately rigorous and relevant to our operational context.
The team you lead would comprise of around 6 Project Engineers focusing on delivering Traffic Management Systems for the rail industry. You will be responsible for their development giving support and direction and ensure the team deliver work according to project plans.
Delivering electromechanical design and specification activities to quality, time, and cost, ensuring:
Quality/appropriateness of designs
Compliance with/setting strategy re design principles
Identification and management of risk
Taking the lead in key factors such as make/buy decisions
Developing and driving the implementation of industry-wide best practice in the function
Managing and developing people and capabilities to meet current and future needs
Being a passionate advocate for change, leading continuous improvement activities and presenting alternatives to the status quo
Proactively working with other Directorates to ensure interfaces and process are efficient, understood, and meet the needs of the businessRole requirements:
Electrical design experience particularly at 110v / 240v control circuits and integration with electronic components, HMDI, cables and telecoms.
Experience in leading a design or engineering team. Senior / Principal Engineer can be considered.
Exposes and proactively manages solution risks and change processes

Experience from an industry where bespoke systems have been installed and commissioned in a challenging environment such as oil & gas, manufacturing, aerospace or other. Rail experience is not essential.
