We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special needs school based in Hertfordshire.
The students are aged between 3-25 years old and have a range of special educational needs. These include PMLD, MLD, SLD, ASD, and speech, language and communication difficulties. You will be supporting children every day by encouraging their learning and providing a high quality of learning support.
To follow the guidelines for care needs and medical interventions, as well as undertaking any required training to do the position.
To prepare classrooms/corridors to the standard as directed by the class teacher.
To contribute to the wellbeing of the pupils
Participate in all aspects of the curriculum, including swimming and LOTC (learning outside the classroom activities).
Develop positive activities for the pupils and establish positive relationships with them.
To inspire pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage in all activities.
Provide personal care where necessary (including changing, feeding, mobility).Key skills required:
Previous experience working with/caring for children within an educational setting, preferably children with disabilities
Previous experience with personal care following school procedure
Having a childcare related qualification (NVQ or equivalent qualification)
Good listening and communication skills
