Commercial Implant - M&S
Location: Dronfield - Gunstones Bakery & London, W2 - Marks and Spencer
Due to business growth a brand new opportunity is available within our Commercial Team for a Commercial Implant to join our Gunstones Bakery at Dronfield. Working for Gunstones Bakery but also as part of the M&S Buying Team, this is a pivotal team within the food business, you will have a talent for data, be passionate about finding and providing evidence on which we can grow the category and drive M&S market share.
You may not have heard of Gunstones Bakery, but the site produces some of the finest bread rolls, hot cross buns, iced buns and array of other baked products for one of the nation's favourite high street retailers, Marks and Spencer.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar Account Management role within Food Manufacturing, FMCG or Retailer sectors, along with having excellent stakeholder and data analytical skills. They will be structured and disciplined to be able to work at pace, work remote and have excellent time management skills.

About The Role:
As the Commercial Implant you will analyse and report weekly on the category performance, identifying of appropriate data base to drive analytical thought process and provide an understanding of the impact of individual promotions. You will help develop the category by proactively identifying new ways to use and understand information, and influence ways of working to help the team make better decisions.
You will build a relationships with Buyers, Product developer, FIPS & SRD, Review Space changes and make recommendations to the team. Also you will deliver projects to the highest standards within defined timescales, manage the relationship between M&S & the suppliers and look for new innovations to drive category performance
As part of the supplier Team, you will have a talent to build relationships within supplier & M&S driving category as one team. Be passionate working with the Key Stakeholders and be the experts in supplier on which we can grow the category and drive M&S market share in a tough market place.
As the Commercial Implant you will have 2 days a week travelling into London and working out of the M&S offices at Waterside House providing support for the M&S Category team and liaising with Gunstones Bakery to ensure forecast, price and promotional accuracy. Along with 2 days a week working out of Gunstones Bakery in Dronfield as part of the commercial team but also working closely with the site team in order to ensure that we are utilising all available opportunities to maximise the efficiency of the bakery through close management of the Gunstones portfolio. This would include, but not limited to, managing pre-coding through forecast accuracy, reducing packaging and ingredient write off and working closely with the commercial manager.
1 day a week that would remain flexible and could involve store visits, competitor analysis (both other retailers and other suppliers) and could also be a further day in either Gunstones or Waterside depending on requirement. Given the current COVID19 restrictions this role could also be home based for part of any week. The role would report directly into the Gunstones Commercial Manager with a dotted line into the M&S Senior Buyer for Bakery
* Experienced within a similar Account Management position within Food Manufacturing, FMCG or retail sectors
* Excellent stakeholder skills
* Experience of interrogating data bases - preferable IRi, Nielsen or Kantar but not essential
* Advanced skills with Excel
* Experience working in fast paced and effective insight function is preferable
* Exceptional problem solving, analytical and numerical skills are essential
* Analytical curiosity with passion for investigating performance
* Commercial awareness - apply knowledge of M&S products, business and competitors to add to the analysis and drive category decisions
* Category & Insight background is preferred
* Customer Focused - Understands the needs of the M&S customer and improves performance by seeking feedback.
* Ability to communicate findings in a commercial environment is essential
