The candidate must be able to achieve UK security clearances to SC.
This client supports customers that operate civil and defence nuclear plants and facilities.
This role is primarily to support the defence nuclear work-stream.
To support strong market demand and the ongoing development and growth of the established Safety team, we are looking for experienced / Senior Nuclear Safety Consultants to help to grow the safety team further.
This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety consultant who has a proven track record in developing and leading teams of technical safety professionals. It would also be a great fit for an experienced Nuclear Safety Consultant looking for a step-up into a leadership role.
Experience from the UK defence nuclear environment would be a perfect fit.
You will have experience of working in a consultancy environment and have existing or potential team leadership skills and the vision and desire to help to grow a team.
Requirements (experience in some of the following areas)
Safety Legislation, Regulation and Policy
Team leadership experience or a desire to take on such a role
Degree in a relevant subject of Engineering or Safety
Derivation of Safety Functional Requirements
Hazard Identification / Hazard Analysis / Fault Sequence Assessment
Deterministic and / or Probabilistic Safety Assessment
Engineering Design Substantiation
Safety Case authoring You will require knowledge of nuclear safety management and its application throughout the plant lifecycle; including design, operation and decommissioning and will be able to demonstrate experience in producing the nuclear safety documentation required as part of the Site Licence & Authorisation Conditions.
You will support senior management in the strategy development process by maintaining and communicating a vision for the Client Segment. You will have the ability to identify and support business development opportunities resulting in the preparation of estimates, proposals, budgets and documentation.
You will take a strong interest in understanding clients' problems and in shaping programmes of work to resolve them, within the boundaries of a highly regulated industry.
