This is an exciting opportunity for a Full-Stack PHP Developer to join our reputable client based in Peterlee.
The Full-Stack PHP Developer will be joining a friendly team where you will be utilising your current skills and learning many new technologies.
Full-Stack PHP Developer Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain the company's websites & other digital platforms according to the development strategy using best practices.
* Ensure all websites, servers and data are secure minimising the threat of imminent cyber-attacks.
* Ensure all websites are integrated with the company's CRM, email and other external systems.
* Bring new ideas to the table ensuring the company websites are up to date and on point with current industry trends.
* Monitor competitor's websites to ensure we are always one step ahead.
* Provide recommendations and implement solutions to web-based issues and challenges.
* Work with external resources that will assist with various projects.
Full-Stack PHP Developer Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
* At least 2 years of experience as a developer, in-house, freelance or agency.
* A very strong understanding of the Laravel PHP framework is critical.
* Excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Apache, JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5, CSS.
* A good understanding of cyber security and best practices with comprehensive stress testing knowledge. A fundamental understanding of the top 10 OWASP is essential.
* An excellent understanding of website databases, architecture and how they work.
* The ability to work on and maintain legacy codebase and refactor changes to implement modern best practices.
* Experiencing working with Linux based operating systems (primarily CentOS).
* Experience working with GIT versioning control (GitLab).
* The ability to write clean code using CSS, minimising global changes.
* An understanding of front-end usability (UX) and accessibility.
* Experience with .htaccess and redirects.
* An excellent understanding of the digital marketing industry.
* The ability to work as part of a team and take individual responsibilities.
* Excellent work ethic - trustworthy, reliable, committed, enthusiastic and autonomous.
* Understanding & interpreting creative briefs & brand guidelines.
* Ability to communicate in a professional manner across different levels of a business and to a global customer base.
