A well established, growing SME Business based in Warrington are seeking a new permanent Procurement Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a newly created position due to company growth and an urgent need for the role within the Business. This organisation employ around 100 people and turnover £10 million.
You role will be a varied position, with many different duties as you will be effectively in a "stand-alone" procurement position, therefore you must have full, rounded experience of how a procurement function operates. Please see below your key responsibilities:

You role will be a varied position, with many different duties as you will be effectively in a "stand-alone" procurement position, therefore you must have full, rounded experience of how a procurement function operates. Please see below your key responsibilities:
- Reviewing, revising and developing the procurement processes
- Ensure the organisation achieves the lowest possible price for their products, whilst maintaining the quality
- Developing relationships and commercial agreements with suppliers - reviewing existing agreements
- Streamlining, implementing and improving procurement processes within the business
- Negotiating with suppliers, maintaining and renewing contracts alongside the Operations and Finance team
- Resolving and eliminating any disputes and queries that may prevent customer invoicing
- Working in conjunction with Operations to ensure the right purchasing decision is made
- Weekly, monthly and adhoc reporting to the Finance Director
- Work as the organisations Procurement Expert
The ideal candidate will have the following experience
- Have worked within Procurement for the last few years, ideally within a standalone capacity or within a small team
- Have strong negotiation skills
- Have experience in improving and implementing processes
- Be an organisation self-starter
- Have a proven track record of reliability
In return you will receive:
- A competitive salary of £25,000-£30,000pa dependant on experience
- Hours 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
