The company provides technology services for Engineers, Designers, Architects, contractors and manufacturers in the construction industry. These services help companies work smarter and reduce risk via improved decision making provided through connected systems and information. The platform also exposes manufacturer's products to the industry.

Development Manager - Purpose

As Software Development Manager you will lead a team of software developers responsible for delivering world class products and services for the construction industry.

You will be working on several software delivery initiatives which will primarily involve:

*Collaborating with other key stakeholders and the wider teams to solve complex problems
*Utilising your skills in software architecture design and application of solid engineering practices to shape the technical direction of our services.
*Building robust products and services in modern JavaScript or .NET/ .NET Core frameworks actively contributing to the code base of these products and services
*Bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the software delivery processes
*Ensuring the company deliver working software regularly in line with product roadmaps

You will also spend time coordinating your teams work with product managers, UX designers and software testers as well as mentoring your team of software developers to improve their technical skills.

Development Manager - People & Resources

Staff: The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading a team consisting of a mixture of Developers and Testers at different levels of ability
Resources: Full suite of Microsoft-based development tools.

Development Manager - Key Responsibilities

*Provide technical leadership to your team of full stack developers. Mentoring, coaching, and inspiring them to deliver high quality development work
*Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders such as product managers, software development managers, the director of software delivery and director of platform delivery to develop a meaningful vision for your development team
*Collaborate with developers, designers and testers to plan and deliver work in an agile environment
*Architect technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions in collaboration with other software delivery teams
*Work on back-end, front-end and other associated technologies to build and maintain the company's software products
*Align the output of your software development team to our software development framework and associated standards
*Work with partners and external suppliers
*Set clear goals and assess team and individual performance
*Innovate on and identify areas for continuous improvement within our product development lifecycle
*Stay up to date with the latest trends in software engineering
*Liaise with our customers as required and drive a customer-centric approach across the developers

Development Manager - Measures of Success

*Products are delivered in line with product roadmaps meeting requirements, design and quality criteria.
*Software development activity is aligned to our agreed software development framework and associated policies.
*Risks or issues are highlighted in a timely manner with suggestions for resolution.
*Regular performance reviews are held and completed in a timely manner.
*Continued commitment to the development of team members and colleagues.

Development Manager - Technical/Job Skills, Qualifications and Experience

*Solid demonstrable experience with either JavaScript or .NET Framework technologies such as NodeJS or Angular.
*Experience designing and developing software architecture solutions to complex problems.
*Experience utilising unit testing and mocking frameworks.
*Proficient in working with modern database technologies.
*Experience working within an agile delivery environment and a passionate advocate of these practices.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
*An ability to understand the technical details of what the team is working on.
*Ability to manage multiple parallel activities with the ability to make rapid decisions.
*Experience coaching and mentoring a strong software development team.
