Job Details

The successful person will be responsible for:

• Delivering a best-in-class analytics' framework utilising internal and external data sources. Work with the Housing Programmes team and Help to Buy team to establish first and second line of defence roles and responsibilities and support the Head of Consumer Risk devise an appropriate risk management framework, and implement this framework alongside an assurance framework for monitoring the mortgage administrator.

• Supporting the Head of Consumer Risk, analysing the portfolio using both quantitative and qualitative information. Strong technical background using SQL, Python/R, Power BI etc. would be needed.

• Leading the identification and management of risk concentrations and adverse trends including bad and doubtful debt, recommending action where appropriate.

• Undertaking stress testing and scenario modelling of the portfolio reviewing impact of systemic risks on portfolio performance.

• Preparing regular reports on progress for Homes England committees.

• Periodically reviewing legal documentation and at a holistic level (not on a deal by deal basis) input into any revision and changes thereof working with both internal and external lawyers.

• Actively participating in and deliver projects to enhance the identification & mitigation of emerging risks within the home equity portfolio whilst balancing aims of the programme objectives.

ResponsibilitiesIn order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have:

• Experience in Credit Risk Management gained in a retail banking environment with a focus on regulated mortgages. Specifically, should be proficient with managing data related projects Strong analytical skills, ability to digest and interpret complex concepts underpinning Credit Risk modelling and approaches.

• Experience in credit risk analytics, statistical and related procedures. Up to date knowledge of regulation affecting mortgage products including latest developments and areas continuing to evolve i.e. Conduct Risk.

• Data extraction and manipulation skills and clear understanding of data issues to prepare and validate data and analyse outputs. Data storytelling with the ability to support findings at a granular level helping the agency carve out portfolio management strategies through data modelling, scenario forecasting through to sensitivity and proprietary testing.

• Excellent communication & influencing skills, with ability to communicate to key stakeholders.

• Well-developed personal organisation and commercial acumen, with the ability to deliver accurate results within tight timescales.
