Software Developer (C#/Scala/Java) - £27k - £60K - Newcastle

This role is predominantly remote based in Newcastle however our client is happy for the successful individual to work remotely if they want.

My client is looking for a Software Developer (C#) to join the Development team and gain further exposure to Scala/Java. This role is a permanent position paying £27k-£45k dependent on experience. My clients are looking to review CV's and start the recruitment process to hire someone to join the current team immediately.

As a Software Developer you will:
  • Write well structured, beautiful and effective code
  • See unit testing as essential, not an afterthought
  • Release code to millions of users multiple times a sprint
  • Be proud of your work and confident it will perform at scale
  • Pair daily with like-minded and highly skilled professionals
  • Be exposed to our platform architecture and learn why we practice DevOps
  • Assist in architecting systems and applications
  • Be fully integrated into an agile team

You need to be skilled at:
  • A modern language with an understanding of its functional capabilities (Scala, Java, C#, Ruby)
  • A modern MVC framework (Play, Vert.x, Rails, ASP.NET MVC, Spring MVC)
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) (we take this seriously)
  • Git
  • Linux (the command line is your friend)
  • Tools and technologies that we use currently (and you'll need to use too):
  • Scala
  • Play
  • Microservices
  • Cucumber
  • JavaScript
