Contract type: full-time
Help develop our growing school
We are seeking a highly motivated educational practitioner who can contribute to and enrich the educational experience of the children in our growing school, established in August 2018. The Stables is an independent school, teaching a primary curriculum, catering for up to twenty two pupils at Key Stages 1,2 and 3. All teachers will teach all subjects within a weekly timetable; curriculum enrichment is provided through outdoor learning, trips and visits within the local area and access to varied sporting activities such as horse riding, swimming and wall climbing.
As a class teacher, you will lead and develop teaching and learning for one of our small mixed ability class groups. You will be responsible for delivering an engaging and diverse curriculum, differentiating learning activities according to the children's individual needs, to deliver positive educational outcomes for every pupil. These needs include: social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. Experience of teaching children with similar profiles is highly essential.
The Stables Independent School works closely with Clover Childcare Services children's homes and share a commitment to attachment theory, inter-subjectivity and the neurobiology of maltreatment. We are looking to hear from suitably experienced professionals who share the same value base. The role is ideally suited to a qualified teacher with a passion for special needs teaching, who can embrace our approach to learning with an attitude of playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy. The majority of our children and young people have educational biographies which have been affected by developmental trauma.
For suitable candidates, there is also an opportunity to take on the role of SENDCo, managing and reviewing the EHCPs for our pupils and being responsible for the planning and implementation of interventions across the school. Two days release time per week would be given to fulfil these duties alongside a three day teaching commitment. For this role, holding the national SENDCo award is desirable, but completion of the award would be supported by the school if it is not already held.
