JOB- R&D Project Manager

LOCATION- Hertfordshire

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £40,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience (plus benefits)

My client designs and manufactures a range of products within the technology / scientific sector and they are looking to take on a Project Manager with experience in R&D on a permanent basis in the Hertfordshire area.

The Project Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree BSc / BEng qualification in a Scientific / Mechanical / Engineering technical subject
7 years' plus of industry experience in a similar R&D highly technical environment
Previous experience leading a team working in a Senior role
Proven Project Management experience
A PRINCE2 qualification for formal training / techniques would be desirable
Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Experience with using MS Project for project plan and maintenance would be desirable
Good understanding of aspects such as risk analysis, P&L and cost control
Good knowledge of manufacturing and R&D processes
Excellent planning and time management skillsThe Project Manager role will involve:

Working within the current multi-disciplined engineering team
Directing and also managing product development projects
Meeting timescales and budgets that are set out
Working on more than one project at a time communicating with other employees and customers
Creating projects plans that fit with the overall business needs and monitoring the ongoing performance of these
Assembling project teams
Leading and coaching these team members in problem solving and project management techniques
Identifying areas of possible risk and preparing plans to reduce these
