ADD/ ADHD SEN Teaching Assistant LSA Job, Year 2 Year 4 | Intervention / EHCP Support | Fulham Primary School

About the School:

A mainstream Primary School in Fulham is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is experienced supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with EHCP's to support ADD and/or ADHD to start in December 2020 or January 2021.


About the Role:


Working within the school's SEN team and in collaboration with the SENCO, you will provide both academic and pastoral support to two pupils in Year 2 and Year 4 with poor attention and focus. Both pupils work at P levels, are resilient to learning and receive additional support from outreach agencies. Their behaviour is not challenging however, you need to have a fair and firm approach with them and be confident setting boundaries and following behavioural plans.

The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting pupils with ADD/ ADHD, ideally within a Primary School and will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
  • This is a challenging but rewarding role, so it is essential that you have experience supporting children with special educational needs and working on a one-to-one basis
  • Knowledge of 'P' Levels
  • Have a good understanding of UK KS1 / KS2 curriculum
  • Have strong behaviour management skills and initiative
  • Have a fair but firm approach to working with children
  • Have a good understanding of ADD and ADHD statements
  • Confident with 1:1 Interventions
  • Have previous experience of working in primary schools Have a high level of literacy and numeracy
  • Must be able to ensure the pupil can remain on-task (in and out of class), and support their learning development
  • Be an effective team player
  • Have knowledge of Safeguarding & Child Protection policies
