Research Manager - Retail Banking Technology

A world leader in the field of market intelligence and consulting for IT and consumer technology has a new opportunity within their financial services division for a Research Manager. The Research Manager will produce thought leadership, market intelligence reports and support consulting activities around the area of retail banking technology and digital transformation in banking technology.

The responsibilities and objectives of the Research Manager are as follows:
  • Define and deliver a research agenda specific to retail banking technology and digital transformation in retail banking
  • To produce thought leadership pieces and reports for subscription based market intelligence
  • Leverage a global network of regional analysts
  • Operate as a Subject Matter Expert as part of consulting activities and bespoke research requirements
  • To present to industry at conferences, events and to the wider media

To be suitable for this Research Manager role, candidates will need the following experience and skills:
  • A demonstrable level of experience within retail banking technology, digital transformation in banking or payments, ideally as a researcher or thought leader
  • A subject matter expert on some or all of the following: banking transformation, payments transformation, open banking and ecosystem partnerships, omni-channel banking (with particular focus on digital interaction), data analytics and automation, data monetization, cloud and digital transformation.
  • Experience within research, this could be within market intelligence consulting, or in-house
  • The ability to create insightful and thought provoking reports and thought leadership pieces
  • An existing network within industry, and the ability to build networks internally and externally
  • Strong presentation and client facing skills
  • The ability to leverage and co-ordinate teams of analysts that are geographically dispersed
