An exciting opportunity for science graduates to work and complete their teacher training in an established and successful Academy Trust in south Essex. The Trust comprises several secondary and primary schools where support is provided by a collaborative partnership between schools. The Trust helps deliver a progressive and effective curriculum that is continually improved through mutual cooperation where everybody has a vested interest and the opportunity to play their part.
If you are a science graduate, looking for a paid route to train as a teacher in a supportive and progressive science environment then this is the role for you.
The Trust are initially looking for four science graduates to start their teacher training across three of their secondary schools. Initially working in intervention support, you will have the opportunity to build your whole class responsibilities before starting your teacher training early in 2021.
You will have a passion for working with young people and working collaboratively to help them achieve their full potential.

What does the training entail?
You can complete this program over two years. In your first year, you will work full time in a local school as a Support Staff member, while receiving online and in-person expert training to prepare you for your first year as a teacher. This first year will include modules on:
Knowledge of The Teachers' Standards
Understanding of The Teachers' Standards
Reflective Summary of Learning linked to The Teachers' Standards
By the end of Year One, you'll be ready to start teaching!
Year Two of the course gives you the essential knowledge and skills to excel in your teaching career. The modules included are:
Behaviour and Classroom Management
Curriculum Delivery and Assessment
Development of The Teachers' Standards
Evidence of practical teaching practice
To be considered for enrolment from January 2021, applicants must have:
Undergraduate Honours degree at 2:2 level and above
GCSE Level 4 (Grade C) in English and Maths and a Science A-Level
Must have a desire and passion for becoming a teacher and working in education on a long term basis.
