Job Details:

Salary: Dependant on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm per day, 37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

This job will suit a teacher who is motivated by coaching young people to be the best version of themselves. The students we work with are those considered hard to reach and young people who have struggled to 'fit in' within mainstream school therefore their learning journey is highly personalised and supportive of their wellbeing. Sessions are delivered through one-to-one sessions and small group work sessions.

Responsibilities will be:

To manage the coordination of Science across our client school in the South West. This will cover an array of Functional Skills, KS3 through to KS4 to provide personalised Science lessons that support, stretch and challenge our students to progress. To guide and support our learning mentors to deliver enriched, motivating Maths sessions and support their subject knowledge.

1. To be an outstanding teaching and learning practitioner

2. To deliver a bespoke curriculum relevant to each young person

3. To ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the subjects for all pupils, including those of high ability and those with additional educational or linguistic needs through planning lessons and sequences of lessons, showing how they will assess pupil's learning

4. To support and develop the whole child, not just their academic development but to help them with their wellbeing, personal care, social, emotional and mindfulness

5. Ensure that the learning experiences planned for children adequately match their abilities

6. To implement staff and student timetables

7. To plan for nurturing and educational opportunities relevant and personalised to the young person's strengths and interests

8. To liaise and guide learning mentors with supporting their young person emotionally, socially and academically

9. To provide high-quality teaching that motivates, inspires, supports and challenges young people

10. To assess each individual's learning and wellbeing journey

11. Ensure that the marking of children's work is undertaken at appropriate and regular intervals, and that marking follows agreed service policy

12. To record and report on the progress each pupil makes within the structure of the school's curriculum, ensuring a cyclical process of planning, evaluation and assessment

13. To provide a wide range of teaching and learning styles to ensure pupil progress and achievement

14. To ensure a high standard of pupil work, attitude and behaviour integrated with a high expectation and mindfulness approach

15. To establish and implement clear policies and practices for assessing, recording and reporting on pupil achievement, and for using this information to recognise achievement and to assist pupils in setting targets for further improvement

16. Report pupil's progress accurately, concisely and informatively using the assessment system

17. To attend annual Performance Development Review

18. Be aware of the subject are contribution to pupils' understanding of the duties, opportunities, responsibilities and rights of citizens

19. To take part, as may be required, in the review, development and management of activities related to the curriculum, organisation and pastoral functions of the school

20. Keep up-to-date with research and developments in pedagogy and the subject areas

21. Organise and manage the physical teaching space, materials, tests and other resources safely and effectively

22. Keep up-to-date with research and developments in pedagogy

23. To travel between our school sites, when required

24. Attend courses in line with CPD and School Development needs

25. To ensure the safety of pupils at all times

26. To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people throughout the school

27. Adhere to H&S requirements, including completion of risk assessments
