Overview: An opportunity has arisen with a well-established SaaS company based in Dartford for an Application Support Engineer to join a growing team.
Responsibilities: • Ensure delivery dates are maintained for new product releases. • Support and troubleshoot existing lab environments for end user and technical issues. • Implement improvements to existing lab environments to ensure learners are gaining up to date skills. • Keeping abreast of technology and certification updates. • Communicate with key stakeholders on technical requirements for custom and product development. (SME & Customer) • Communicate with technical operations and development teams to ensure new topologies and features can be delivered in the operational environment. • Manage change control processes for lab creations/updates and retirement. • Able to work flexible hours to accommodate build discussions with customers overseas in different time zones
Essential skills: • Confident in the installation and management of operating systems across the various Linux and Microsoft operating systems. • Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP) and static IP configurations. • Building VMs on Virtualisation technology (Hyper-V and VMware). • Troubleshooting VMs.
Desirable skills: • Microsoft Hyper-V. • VMWare ESXi. • Active Directory and Group Policy. • Cisco • Operating in a ISO-27001 environment. • Experience with OS imaging solutions and patching. • Understanding of Nested Virtualization. • Experiencing providing IT Training. • CompTIA certifications.
