Job responsibilities
In the role of KGS Accountant you will be offering support to the Kier Group Services finance team with regards to reporting, control and payments and banking. You will be responsible for a number of projects across the Group team that will support Balance Sheet control and minimise risks to Group Financial reporting, as well as providing support to the Group reporting team in terms of preparing financial statements and working with external auditors. You will provide support across the KGS finance team with completing month end reporting including downloading actuals, processing accounting adjustments and analysing the final outputs to ensure actuals are in line with expectations, as well as supporting the Group reporting team with completing annual statutory reports, audit requirements and production of the Group financial statements.
Balance sheet control support - working on several projects to improve controls and reconciliations across the KGS balance sheet to ensure all risks are minimised is also an important part of this role.
What do we need from you?
In this role you will need to have AAT or be part-qualified with experience in statutory and financial reporting. You'll need experience in Excel - being competent in general commands and pivot tables with development in to learning more complex commands such as vlookups, in addition strong skills in maths and logical thinking are required. If you have relationship management abilities to enable you to build trust with your stakeholders and have basic ledger accounting experience in terms of journals, purchase orders, cash management, as well as having experience using Oracle for reporting and payments & banking tasks then this could be the perfect role for you.
