Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant

We are recruiting on an exclusive basis for our client, Buckminster, which is an established and thriving operation with a diverse range of responsibilities and interests, involving property management, events and venue hire. The portfolio includes a range of property from tenant farms, leisure and a very wide variety of commercial and residential buildings. The business is based in modern offices in the village of Buckminster, easily accessible from the A1 between Grantham and Colsterworth.

It is due to a retirement in March that this key role will arise, giving the opportunity to join the team. A two-month handover, is envisaged to go through two cycles of monthly accounting to give you the best grounding in the role and company.

The role is for a permanent, full time Bookkeeper /Assistant Accountant. You will be working closely with the Estate Accountant, and your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, requiring you to work under pressure occasionally and think on your feet. Due to the nature of the work there is a large proportion of data entry, although you will be expected to work on varied aspects of the accounts to assist in taking them to trial balance.

Your day to day duties will be varied but will generally involve:
 Accurate data entry and all associated accounts administration
 Processing Bank receipts and payments and carrying out reconciliations
 Sales Ledger management including processing rent demands, which can be monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual and ad hoc sales invoicing.

 Purchase ledger and processing incoming invoices for payment and correct allocation of those invoices

 Occasional payroll processing, including Real time Information.
 Database Administration/Management - using 'KeyPrime' Accounts software
 Analysis of purchasing and other data to assist the management team in decision making processes

 General Office Administration, handling Accounts queries, assisting other
departments etc.

Given the diverse nature of the business, you will be handling multiple Books/Accounts for each trading arm as necessary, so attention to detail is paramount. You will ideally therefore come from a background where you have been involved in a range of bookkeeping across differing parts of a business or businesses.

This position would ideally suit someone who is used to working in an organisation, such as a property/estate management or an asset management firm that handles a number of clientele where you have been processing Accounts and managing large property portfolios. That said, if you feel that your experience differs but could be beneficial given the nature of the role then please do still apply outlining where you see the similarities.

In return for your commitment to a busy and varied role, the company are able to
offer a highly competitive annual salary of circa £25-30,000 per annum, although this
will greatly depend on your experience, the skills you have to offer and the value you will be able to offer to the business.
