About The Role
As we continue to grow our Finance team we have created a role for a Risk Manager, a critical role in our 3 lines of defence model. You'll own the Finance Risk and Controls statements and set out the standards, processes, artefacts and governance mechanisms required for effective management of our risks at both the functional and category level.
Leading and managing risk management across the function, you'll be the SME for all associated standards and processes, providing coaching and awareness sessions as required. You'll own and manage the department RCSA and produce the monthly dashboard report for ORC, providing accurate and insightful MI to the Finance Leadership team.
You'll be the expert in your field, and understand on a practical level how to apply the theory of risk management in practice, to enable confidence that strong and robust control frameworks are in place across Finance, whilst not being tied up in red tape and bureaucracy.
You'll have a professional qualification in risk management, accountancy, compliance or audit and will have gained significant experience working in a similar role within a highly regulated environment, ideally within a Finance/Treasury function and preferably with financial services experience.
You'll ideally have experience of working within an environment undergoing significant change and have demonstrable experience of working successfully with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
You'll have experience of risk identification, management and quantification and an expert understanding of the theory and practice of risk management, and how these are applied through control frameworks and finance and treasury business processes.
With the strong commercial awareness you have developed during your career you'll be a great communicator with the ability to bring the 'story alive' and use this ability to build, maintain and leverage relationships across your network.
As a team player with demonstrable evidence of strong leadership and influencing skills you'll be equipped with excellent planning and organisation skills.
You'll work collaboratively with your colleagues and stakeholders to ensure delivery against commitments is achieved working to address any challenges, utilising your excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
You'll be curious and want to understand how your role and activity fits and adds value in the context of Finance and the wider Society as a whole.
