Environmental, Health & Safety Director

Liverpool

£80,000 - £85,000 + Package

Core Talent is currently recruiting for an EHS Director on behalf of a Global Manufacturer based in Liverpool. Initially, you will be required to support the business through the development of the facility itself, before assuming site EHS leadership responsibilities once the factory is fully manned.

THE ROLE

As EHS Director, you will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, programmes and procedures in accordance with the company's Global EHS management systems. Other areas of responsibility include:

Implement plans to achieve the financial and operational goals quantified in the factory business plan

Develop and implement a safety culture on site

Ensure policies and processes are effectively implemented in order to prevent work place accidents and minimise environmental impact

Perform internal EHS related audits to ensure full conformance to the internal standards & legal requirements - continuously engage the management team on implementation of corrective actions and improvements

Oversee the site development project from an EHS perspective

Implement and improve global EHS programme and management systems

Meet regularly with senior EHS stakeholders at a global level

Lead change initiatives

Minimise environmental impact throughout the production process

Recruit and lead a team

THE PERSON

Based from the site in Liverpool, the ideal EHS Director will have the following skills and criteria:

Engineering / Technical University Degree

5+ years' experience in an EHS Director/Head of position

Knowledge of technical risk assessment process and tools

Strong background in EHS management systems

Experience working in a manufacturing environment is essential. Industries considered include: Food, FMCG, Chemicals, Automotive and/or similar

Experience of working with chemicals/hazardous materials is an advantage but not essential

Past experience overseeing site improvement projects is required
