Teaching Personnel are recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants local to the Basildon area!
If you have experience supporting SEN students from any age group between Key Stage 1 - Key Stage 5 we would love to hear from you! We are particularly looking for staff who can be available on a flexible basis, often with short notice. It is preferred if you have access to your own transport as some of of schools can be difficult to reach via public transport.
Role & Responsibilities:
To assist the teacher and teaching assistants in the implementing of strategies and resources.
To advance pupils' learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes within the agreed system of supervision.
To monitor and evaluate pupil progress and understanding of learning activities on an ongoing basis, ensuring that pupil responses and attainments during the course of learning activities are systematically recorded in accordance with the agreed monitoring processes.
To encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and to engage all pupils in learning activities.
To build and maintain supportive relationships with pupils, treating all individuals consistently and with respect and consideration. To encourage acceptance and inclusion of all pupils.
At least 12 months experience working with pupils within a learning environment
Experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional, mental health needs and challenging behaviour
GCSEs Grade C/NVQ Level 2 or above in English and Maths
Knowledge of primary curriculum
Knowledge of social, emotional, mental health and behaviour needs
Self motivated and the ability to work in a team
Displays awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
