We have an opportunity available for you to join our team as a CNC Cylindrical Grinder based in Welham Green. You will be joining on a permanent basis working 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00-5:00 with an early finish on Friday 08:00-1:00. In return you will receive a competitive hourly rate of £13.13, plus benefits.

Davall Gears is a long-established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes. Established in 1886, the company have been long associated with the supply of precision gears to companies across the world. Registered to AS9100 Rev D, ISO(Apply online only) and Nadcap special purpose EDM machining, Davall is a specialist in the aerospace and defence power transmission field, and has an "in-house" design and technical department to call upon for the development, prototype and manufacture of systems and assemblies for commercial, medical, military and aerospace industries.

- Basic rate £13.13 per hour + £97 per month programming supplement (depending on experience), plus paid overtime (x1.5)

The CNC Cylindrical Grinder role involves loading/unloading, checking dimensions in line with our inspection processes and general maintenance of multiple machines. You will liaise with the nightshift on the morning changeover and ensuring stock of consumables are adequate.

Key duties of our CNC Cylindrical Grinder:

- Program, set up and operate CNC and manual machines

- Cylindrical Grinding Skills - ID & OD

- Be able to work to fine tolerances

- Produce first-off components for inspection

- Ensure components are produced to the highest standards as per specifications and drawings

- Inspect components during production to ensure drawing / spec requirements are maintained

- Be able to interpret operations sheets, drawings, sketches and CAD to program and set up parts

- Clean and undertake preventative maintenance of machines

- Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing activities where required

What we're looking for in our ideal CNC Cylindrical Grinder:

- Experience with programming, setting and operating Studer CNC Grinders and manual machines

- Be conversant with Fanuc, Mazatrol and/or Siemens controls

- Be able to read and interpret engineers drawings and tolerances

- Be able to use a wide range of different measuring devices and inspection techniques

- Familiar with Aerospace AS9100D requirements in relation to CNC grinder's role

- Able to work as part of a team and assist others where required
