SEN Teaching Assistant - Newham

Hours: 8:30/3:30 (Mon-Fri)

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic TA looking for their next challenge? Are you looking to work in a supportive environment?

This position is to commence in January so interviews and trials will be held prior to this date. The daily rate will be between £70/£85 dependant on experience and this is a full time, temp to perm opportunity.

Teaching Personnel are working closely with an OUTSTANDING primary school in the Forest Gate area of Newham. This highly regarded school boasts a brilliant environment, with Oftsted reporting how the "children first‟ ethos permeates the life of the school." They are focussed on providing a comfortable, positive working environment for both staff and pupils.

The school are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for either KS1 or KS2. This position would involve working 1:1 with SEN pupils, running small group interventions particularly focussed on catch up due to learning loss over Covid-19, booster sessions and assisting the class teacher with general tasks. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and experienced teaching assistant competent in providing a safe, stimulating and positive educational experience.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Newham Successful Candidate Specification-

A couple of years experience working with SEN needs in some capacity

ASC experience is particularly desirable

A knowledge or understanding of strategies to help SEN children with learning and behaviour
Excellent communication skills and a pro-active personality, able to use initiative when working 1:1 with a pupil
Enhanced DBS - Teaching Personnel can assist with this.
An educational background.
Any relevant SEN qualifications also desirable but not compulsory
