SEN Teaching Assistant

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant required for a secondary school in Wareham:

Supporting identified pupils and pupils on the Autistic Spectrum (ASC) on a 1:1 basis

Temporary position starting in January, with the potential of securing a permanent position dependent on funding.

Typical earnings of £1100-£1300 per month depending on experience.

Previous experience working with students with Special Education Needs is essential to be considered for this position.
With a recent resignation in the schools support department and a number of students with Special Educational Needs who joined the school in September, the SENCO at our client Secondary school would like to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant as a matter of urgency.

The SENCO wishes to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience working alongside students that have identified needs, students with ASC and children that show signs of challenging behaviour. The school have highlighted that the incoming SEN Teaching Assistant must be able to work alongside students, promoting positive learning and behaviour whenever possible and are able to help them make consistent improvements in class. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must have a calming nature when working alongside students with SEN needs and be able to identify and defuse stressful situations before they escalate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
