Domus have a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Clinical Services (RMN) to join the leading healthcare provider for Mental Health services in the UK.

You will work within a private Mental Health service that offers outpatient, day care and inpatient treatment for a wide range of Mental Health difficulties.

The hospital consists of an acute admissions unit, a specialist eating disorders unit and a CAMHS impatient unit.

The hospital has a combination of employed and visiting consultants and well-established multidisciplinary teams in all wards including nursing, therapy, occupational therapy and psychology input.

The hospital provides a combination of NHS funded and private care and has been rated "Good" in recent CQC inspection with "Outstanding" rating in the "caring" domain.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic individual who is looking for the opportunity to work alongside likeminded people within the Senior Management Team.

The Director of Clinical Services is a pivotal role in ensuring high quality clinical care and robust clinical governance processes within the hospital.

Working in close collaboration with Ward Managers, Medical Director and Hospital Director this role will be at the forefront of patient centred care working towards achieving an OUTSTANDING rating with CQC.

Key Responsibilities of a Director of Clinical Services:

The DoCS play a key part in developing and delivering the hospital strategy, providing operational and clinical leadership to the team.

Ensures delivery of the highest level of clinical and therapeutic care together with ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and current legislation, meeting quality standards and delivering against quality performance indicators.

Provides leadership, organisation and co-ordination to ensure effective clinical governance.

Responsible for the implementation of effective clinical interventions and ensures that treatment is designed to enhance the operation and quality of clinical services and is aligned to best practice.

Manages the delivery of the clinical services business plan ensuring the effective and efficient management and control of staffing, budgets, materials and equipment.

Promotes an effective working relationship across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsible for ensuring that Ward Managers are using the rostering system effectively and are rostering at least 12 weeks in advance.

Accountable for ensuring timely completion and implementation of action plans in respect of regulatory and corporate requirements.

To ensure relevant staffs work within the standards and frameworks of professional codes of conduct and to take remedial action as appropriate.

Reviews staffing on a daily basis, ensuring compliance against the staffing ladders and reviews trends, under or over staffing and puts in place actions to remedy.

Responsible for ensuring the staffing models are adhered to in the clinical services team, maintaining safe staffing levels.

Manages and develops a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Responsible for ensuring that sound recruitment processes and retention plans are in place to drive down turnover and raise engagement.

Links with local universities and HEI's to build a pipeline of Nurses and Therapists into the hospital including, where appropriate, to carry out seminars/lectures and recruitment campaigns to raise the profile of the hospital.

Ensures that all employees have the opportunities to further develop their careers and encourages and supports CPD applications.

Responsible for ensuring that all colleagues receive clinical supervision in accordance with professional guidelines and carries out management supervision as appropriate.

Ensures clinical services comply with statutory regulations and current legislation meets quality standards and deliver against key performance indicators.

Ensure site objectives are being met and encouraging high quality of service.

As part of the Senior Management Team will carry out on-call duties as directed by Hospital Director.

Contributes to the development of their policies, procedures, processes and initiative

Director of Clinical Services Requirements:

NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council registered)

Have a minimum of 5 years frontline clinical or equivalent experience

Have experience at ward manager level or equivalent

Experience in Clinical Governance inspection planning and procedures, audit and reporting

Be proficient in the sharing of clinical best practice from national bodies such as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE)

The ability to harness the commitment and potential of others

Excellent organisational capability

Be forward thinking and able to challenge the status quo

Be a role model & mentor to other staff - providing advice and support to promote good practice in supervision and reporting
