Job Details

Lecturer of Human Behaviour (Psychology, Criminology & Childcare and Education)

There are two roles available

1. Full Time (1.0), permanent
2. Full Time (1.0), maternity cover

Both roles are open to candidates who wish to work part time.
Each role will teach primarily on either our psychology or criminology course, with the potential of additional teaching for our childcare and education course.

Would you relish the opportunity to teach A-Level Psychology, Criminology, or Childcare and Education within a college setting?

Not only can Cirencester College offer the chance to teach successful, intelligent and ambitious students, but we can do so in the beautiful Cotswold setting of Cirencester. We are seeking adaptable and creative individuals to join our high achieving faculty.

You would have the opportunity of teaching these enthusiastic learners about the discipline of psychology, enhancing their knowledge of social, biological, and cognitive strands of theory. Students pick from either a crime, environmental, or sport pathway, and so in year 2 you may also get the opportunity to dive deeper in these specific areas of psychology.

If teaching criminology is of interest to you, here at the Cirencester you would have the opportunity of teaching enthusiastic learners about the discipline of criminology, enhancing their knowledge of types and implications of crime. The course aims to dive deep into the criminal world, journeying through an analysis of criminal acts, the legal implications of crime, and preventative measures.

In either course you would teach surrounded by a large and supportive team who will readily share resources and best practices, and offer support whenever required. Team members within the psychology course also oversee and lead the childcare and education course too, and so you will be well supported on any course you teach.

The psychology and criminology courses are two of the largest courses at the college, with hundreds of students currently enrolled. If you want the opportunity to teach on the psychology or criminology team we would like to hear from you.

This role is compatible with the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) initiative. TTF is designed to help unqualified teachers gain experience and train to be a qualified teacher. This includes benefits such as a reduced timetable, team teaching opportunities and access to a teaching qualification while you work

Benefits include: generous holiday scheme, a defined benefit Teachers Pension scheme (including life assurance), free on-site car parking, on-site fitness suite, Refectory, Cycle to Work scheme.
