Software Engineer
Would you like to gain exposure to leading edge technologies? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer at our site in Christchurch.
As a Software Engineer, you will be working with the foundation engineers, producing the software build that has no applications (blank desktop). This long term appointment is a complement to the existing 25 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system to Royal Navy operations staff.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems. This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support.
Your main responsibilities as a Software Engineer will involve:
Providing the support for the existing system
Providing development and design for the current/future programs
Providing systems design and systems interfacing
Providing serial communications including communication standards, serial and bespoke cabling techniques
Providing network communications including networking equipment, WAN techniques, Ethernet categories and associated techniques
Your skills and qualifications as a Software Engineer:
Experience and/or knowledge of:
PowerShell
Windows Security and Group Policies
Network security
Active directory
Diploma or degree level in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related discipline would be desirable

You should have strong attention to detail with a can do attitude. You will need to be able to work autonomously and be able to communicate with and influence a broad range of stakeholders.

Salary: £36 000+
