Investment Risk Manager

London - Cannon Street

£Dependent on experience

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Full Time

Our client protects millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. Their members rely on them to look after their pensions if their employers collapse and the pension schemes cannot afford to pay what they promised.

They're equivalent in size to a top 5 UK pension scheme and have developed a highly sophisticated, best-in-class investment strategy. Their culture combines private sector standards with a public service ethos.

They are looking for an Investment Risk Manager to work alongside their Chief Investment Officer in guiding their investment strategy from a risk perspective.

The role is fundamentally responsible for supporting the CIO on risk analysis and risk advice on new investments, current mandates, wider portfolio construction within the asset class and strategic asset allocation. Additionally, there will be involvement in considering different risk approaches and time horizons for certain asset classes.

They are looking for an individual with a proven track record in implementing and developing sophisticated investment risk approaches, being able to rely on your technical understanding to be able to clearly and concisely present these findings to a diverse audience, including sponsored committees. They expect interested applicants to demonstrate expert understanding of the investment world (including organisations investment strategy), including investment product knowledge, and how this is entwined with risk mitigation. Finally, they anticipate that you have related professional or academic qualifications to reinforce your level of experience.

Sound like you? Apply now.

In return for your skills, experience and commitment they'll give you a challenging role within a business where you'll get the support you need to develop your career.

You'll also get an outstanding rewards package which includes a discretionary bonus scheme, private medical insurance, health cash plan, critical illness insurance, holiday trading, volunteering leave and a choice of generous defined benefit or defined contribution pension scheme.

Our client is a Disability Confident Employer. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria for this role you will be guaranteed an interview.

They embrace diverse talent welcoming people with different beliefs, backgrounds and ways of working, and they aim to create an environment in which everyone can be themselves.

They are a flexible organisation and welcome the opportunity to talk about what arrangements may work best for you.
