Looking for a Support Assistant to join a team in Bradford

14 Hours per week. Contract position.

Duties/Responsibilities

Supervise and provide specialist support for pupils with vision impairment, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the school.Assist with the development and implementation of individual programmes of work, as detailed in the EHCP, and to include braille / tactile/ habilitation programmes.Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher, and encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.Accurately record and provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils' achievement, progress, problems and other relevant issues.

Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviourPrepare, maintain and use specialist equipment required to meet the lesson plan / relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use.
Prepare, maintain and use specialist curriculum resources required to meet the lesson plan / relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use.

Support the use of ICT and specialist technology in learning activities and develop pupils competence and independence in its use.

Provide clerical and admin support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, displays and other relevant tasks, which support the work of the ARC.

Be aware of and comply with School policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required and participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtime.
