Job Details

Assistant Headteacher - Luton

TimePlan Education are recruiting for an Assistant Headteacher on behalf of a school in Luton. The Assistant Head role is an interim post commencing in January 2021. The role is to cover a maternity leave so the contract may well be extended beyond July 2021. Due to the expansion of the trust, there will also be an opportunity to take on a permanent leadership role following the successful completion of the interim post.

This job is ideal for someone is a middle management post who is looking to step up to senior leadership or for someone already in a similar role who is looking for a new challenge.

The Assistant Headteacher role has a pastoral focus, with minimal teaching. You will not have a teaching timetable but will be expected to chip in and deliver class lessons and group sessions when needed. The key responsibilities for the role include behaviour and attendance across the school. You will lead the school's personal development programme 'Personal Best' and will work closely with senior leaders, teachers and students to ensure that high levels of wellbeing are maintained across the school. The salary range is L5-L9 (£46,566-£55,000) depending on your experience and qualifications.

The school is in a strong place with the most recent Ofsted report as 'Good' in all areas. The existing leadership team have worked hard to improve behaviour and results across the school. The staff and students are happy and settled. You will have access to fantastic facilities across the state of the art building.

The school has learning, development and achievement at the heart of how it works. However, the diverse needs of the students mean that staff need to be flexible and adaptable, this needs to reflect in the teaching and learning experience. You will need to work closely with your students, your staff, parents, carers and outside organisations to provide the holistic approach that is needed.

To apply for these roles please email TimePlan on or phone Ben Mason directly on (phone number removed).

TimePlan Education Group Limited is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Enhanced Disclosure, Barring Service (DBS) check and two professional references.
