Workshop Engineer - Apprentice Trained
Sheet Metal Manufacturing Industry
Day Shifts - Leicester - LE4
Up to £9.50 per hour (starting rate)

Are you based near Leicester and looking for an opportunity to develop your engineering skills further?
My client is an established firm in the engineering sector, based in Leicester. They are currently looking for an enthusiastic Sheet Metal Worker with skills or training in either Mechanical Fitting, Assembly, Welding, Fabrication or Machining. If you have the attitude and ability to learn and develop your skills further, they will offer you the chance to grow into a fully skilled Workshop Engineer
The Role:
- Learning how to undertake a wide variety of engineering duties throughout their modern workshop
- Duties could include Mechanical Assembly, Grinding, Fitting, Welding, Fabrication
- Working with sheet metal of various sizes
- Learning how to understand and work from drawings
- Quality checking parts
- Maintaining machinery, removing swarf and routine oiling/greasing etc
- Working as part of a team
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
- Apprentice trained in Sheet Metal Work or Engineering
- Machining, Assembly and MIG Welding skills required
- Excellent attitude and desire to learn
- Ability to develop your understanding of engineering drawings and techniques
- Motivated and excellent team player
- Excellent time-keeping
- Able to commute to the Leicester / Thurmaston / LE4 area
The Package:
- Starting pay rate up to £9.50 per hour, reviewed after 1 month
- Rate dependant on skill and experience level
- Clear career progression and skills matrix in place (linked to pay progression)
- Bonus scheme

- 42 hours per week
- Day shifts
- Potential to earn a permanent contract
