Nature Recovery Network Manager

£30,000 per annum

Based in Newark (with flexibility to work from home)

Full time 35 hours per week

Fixed term post 3 years until October 2023

Our client is a grassroots movement of 850,000 members, 38,000 volunteers and 2,800 staff across the UK. They have a vision of land and seas rich in wildlife with people close to nature.

As part of addressing the combined climate and nature crisis, they want to see at least 30% of land and sea in recovery for nature by 2030 and they believe that the most effective way to achieve this is through a Nature Recovery Network. They are dedicated to this vision and driven by their beliefs.

They have campaigned successfully for a spatially planned approach to achieve nature's recovery and are pleased to have had success in securing wording within the current Environment Bill for Nature Recovery Strategies across England to be embedded as part of Local Authority responsibilities.

Their 36 individual Trusts are the best placed grass roots network across England, to lead how to consistently connect up and create a Nature Recovery Network. This is because each Trust reflects its own unique locality and is intricately connected into landscapes, seascapes and local communities.

It is from this strong position that they are pleased to announce that The Samworth Foundation have funded a Nature Recovery Network Manager post to bring together the work of the England Trusts'. This role will have the opportunity to influence policy delivery, the implementation of nature-based solutions to climate change, agricultural schemes and public health interventions. They know it's no mean feat, but their collective knowledge across the Trusts' is ready and waiting to be drawn upon to achieve this.

As a highly self-motivated and tenacious individual, you will thrive in helping fellow professionals in sharing high quality thinking and best practice delivery. You will draw upon the Trusts' on the ground experience to actively influence the methodologies and shape government policy and approach to secure nature's recovery. You will hold a working knowledge of the relevant methodology and terminology relating to Nature Recovery Networks.

You will be an excellent relationship manager, both internally and externally. Comfortable and confident in influencing Government bodies and departments as well as engaging specialist colleagues who sit across individual Trust charities.

Using clear thinking and analytical skills, you will strive to bring clarity to process and consistency in ways of working through a co-creative approach. You will lead and produce the design of guidance and templates, drawn from The Wildlife Trusts' Nature Recovery Network technical guidance.

You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be organised and resourceful and have an eye for written detail as well as have confidence in advocacy and public speaking.

You will also be skilled in listening and drawing consensus as part of the on-going development of our approach to Nature Recovery Networks

Our client's values; courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility. Whilst they are passionate in promoting their aims, they are not judgemental, and are inclusive.

As part of a tight and dedicated central team, you will need to have excellent collaboration and facilitation skills and always strive to ensure that everyone can come together effectively across the movement of the Trusts to achieve their Nature Recovery Network goals.

Our client wants their people to be as diverse as nature, so they particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within the sector, including people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities. They are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities.

As a Disability Confident employer, our client is committed to offering an interview to anyone with a disability that meets all the essential criteria for the post
