Here at PK Education we are working with a Special School in South Yorkshire who cater for young people who have Learning Difficulties. The students that attend this School have Mild Learning Difficulties, such as, Autism, Communication Difficulties, ADHD and other complex needs.
In this role you will be required to teach across the curriculum and be able to manage different levels of ability within one classroom. You will need to have experience working with young people with Special Needs within a school or similar, and can identify triggers and different learning styles. Due to the nature of the environment the School requires a Teacher who can be empathetic and manage behaviour effectively. These children that attend this school are Primary and Secondary aged and it would be desirable if you had extra SEN qualification and training such as Team Teach.
Requirements -
Previous experience of teaching students with Special educational needs, MLD, PMLD, SLD
Be able to support the pupil's social and emotional development
Ability to develop rapport with SEND individuals and their parents
You should have finished your studies and hold full QTS. You should be motivated, pro-active and caring
Be Team Teach and/or Moving & Handling trained
Be confident working with students that have MLD, Autism and communication difficulties
About the role -
You will have additional support in the classroom from other support staff
You will be responsible for teaching both small and large groups of students with Special Educational Needs (ASD/SLD)
You will use resources to help each student understand and engage in lessons
You will plan and deliver effective lessons using the UK curriculum
