We have posts within the Orthopaedic service for band 5 nurses. Ward 9 and 10 are 20/24 bedded elective orthopaedic wards carrying out various surgeries including - minor surgery/daycases, joint replacements, back surgery, cancer surgery etc. There is also a 3 bedded Close Observation Unit within the ward.
The unit is very fast-paced and has a high turnover of patients. We work alongside ward 212/213, ARI (Orthopaedic trauma unit) and the successful candidate would be expected to rotate to cover shortfalls in staffing. Previous experience in surgical nursing or recent acute hospital experience would be an advantage.
We are therefore looking for a hard working, flexible, enthusiastic and motivated nurse with an interest in surgical nursing & orthopaedics. The successful candidate should possess excellent organisational & time management skills. The nursing staff work 12 hour shifts and this would include day & night duty rotation but working hours/patterns can be discussed further at time of interview. Flexible working patterns will be given consideration.
Informal inquiries and visits to the unit are welcome. Please contact SCN Caroline Mutch)
