We are looking for a Professional Standards Development Facilitator to join a national membership organisation and governing body, to support with the development and delivery of the professional standards strategy through evidence-based standards of education, training and practice that define competence and scope of practice.

This role involves:
  • assisting the Head of Professional Standards to develop, deliver and disseminate evidence-based specialist areas of competence and scope of practice that define training and practice standards for the future
  • developing and delivering a rolling programme of evidence-based competence frameworks (and associated curricula as required), practice and training standards according to the framework development process
  • developing and delivering a suite of accreditation, endorsement and approved qualification schemes
  • producing a project plan and liaising with all stakeholders to meet deadlines and financial forecasts
  • facilitating the development of resources based on competency frameworks and curricula
  • developing and delivering a communication and engagement plan to promote and engage external stakeholders, raising awareness and encouraging utilisation of standards, competences and curricula
  • promoting awareness and utilisation of ethical frameworks both internally and externally
  • attending internal and external stakeholder meetings in order to develop and inform training standards across the professional and related training field

The Professional Standards strategy encompasses an infrastructure for the future of training and practice within counselling and psychotherapy professions based on defining standards, competences and curricula for core practitioner training and specialisms. The end products will be used by members and non-members including practitioners, services and training providers.

What we are looking for:
  • educated to MSc/MA level in counselling, psychotherapy or related profession
  • accredited counsellor or psychotherapist
  • data collection and analysis skills
  • experienced counselling/psychotherapy trainer with knowledge/ability to write curricula, learning outcomes, assessment criteria and training materials
  • self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to present, communicate and engage at all levels
  • experienced in planning, organising and project management
  • knowledge of contemporary education issues and qualification frameworks
  • ability to travel as required throughout the UK to meet with a wide range of stakeholders
  • good level of IT skills

There is a full-time and part-time option for this position:

35.25 hours per week, paying £40,130 to £41,616 pa

OR 14.5 hours per week, paying £16,052 to £16,646 pa
