Software Support Developer

A Software Support Developer with strong SQL skills is required by a leading provider of web enabled Case management solutions. Based in Gloucestershire, you will be responsible for investigating live issues, and providing bug fixes and code alterations for a wide range of high profile public and private sector clients. This is a development role, but is situated within the Customer Support team, and as such you'll also be required to provide application support for our core COTS product.

CoreDuties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• To investigate, understand and propose solutions to customer encountered issues
• To identify opportunities to resolve commonly encountered customer queries and issues with the development of internal tools and utilities that would reduce, simplify or speed up resolution
• To fix assigned bugs effectively and hand over to tester, minimising number of reactivations
• To write software accurately and effectively to meet specifications and quality standards, updating and maintain existing systems by analysing and identifying areas for modification
• To provide accurate estimates for completion of assigned development activities and to alert the Team Leader in good time to any slippages
• To keep abreast of new technologies and develop skills to meet the changing needs of the customer and the business
• To build effective working relationships with colleagues in the different teams

Skills, qualifications, knowledge and mobility.

• Previous experience as a Software Developer / Application Developer or Application Support Consultant
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server
• Strong Knowledge of C# and .NET
• Strong knowledge of web applications
• AGILE experience would be preferred
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
