Job start: January 2021

Are you a skilled and experienced teacher of Maths or Maths leader?

Are you looking for a position where you can play a lead role in ensuring effective Maths teaching across multiple trust schools?

Would you like to play a key role in shaping national strategies for Maths?

On behalf of a Trust with schools throughout Nottingham and Stoke, Empowering Learning are seeking to recruit a Lead Practitioner for Maths. This is a permanent post for January 2021 and represent a fantastic opportunity to influence Maths teaching and subject strategy across multiple schools.

This is a brand-new role and has been created to ensure that the schools within the trust are consistently developing their practice. The role will initially be across 2 schools, but there is scope for this to be increased. A typical week will involve at least one day a week for strategic oversight, a minimal teaching commitment on 2 specific days and 2 further days to support colleagues in either/both schools.

The school are looking for a dynamic individual who is eager to make a difference and has significant teaching experience and, ideally, some leadership experience.

Key responsibilities of this role:

Coaching, mentoring and induction of teachers, including trainees and NQTs
Disseminating materials and advising on practice, research and CPD provision
Modelling and leading improvement of teaching skills
Assessment and impact evaluation, including through demonstration lessons and classroom observation
Implementation of the Trust's Maths initiatives with individual schools
INSET planning and delivery
Co-ordinating the learning and teaching network with TLR holders
Supporting the schools (and the trust as a whole) in provision of high-quality schemes of work to reduce workload
Helping teachers who are experiencing difficulties

The trust has a strong ethos of student welfare and therefore any successful applicant will undergo a full enhanced criminal record check (DBS). For more information please contact John Byrne at Empowering Learning Ltd. on (phone number removed)
