Tradewind are looking to appoint a Year 1 Class Teacher for a long-term opportunity commencing November 2020 and running until April 2021.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, energetic, dynamic and ambitious practitioner who is ready to make an outstanding impact in an inclusive school. The Headteacher at this school is very experienced and clearly passionate about their role in the school. She is joined by a hard-working team of staff who strive to provide an educational experience which focuses upon academic success, enjoyment, participation and supports a sense of community and belonging.

This school achieved 'Good' in its most recent OFSTED inspection and was praised for significant growth in reading across KS1 and KS2. The school now intends to achieve as much progress in writing and is driven towards meeting these targets.
The school is well-known in the area as a result of strong relationships with local families and has links to the local community church where children celebrate Harvest, Easter and other annual events. The school has a warm ethos and recognises every learner as an individual, strongly supporting the message that every child is valuable and can make a positive contribution to society.

As the Year 1 class teacher, we are looking for:
An outstanding teacher with the drive and capacity to really thrive in this role
Someone who is resilient, hard-working, solution focused and wholeheartedly committed to transforming student outcomes
The ability to prepare and plan effectively and differentiate learning accordingly to meet the needs of individual learners
Confidence delivering Letters and Sounds and recognising where to revisit and reteach to support progress in reading
The ability to build a positive rapport with all students and establish a sense of happiness and belonging within your classroom
A thorough understanding of the National Curriculum including age related expectations and the transition from Reception - Year 2
The ability to utilise a range of assessment strategies to identify and address misconceptions and drive learning forward.
Using initiative to find solutions to problems as well as ask questions for advice and clarification capitalising on opportunities to learn from other teaching professionals
The use and application of ICT to enhance learning opportunities
A teacher who will contribute to the extra-curricular programme and attend wider school events in the local community
A larger than average percentage of children are working at or above age related expectations at this school so you will be required to challenge learners to work in 'greater depth' to unlock academic potential.
